Immerse Yourself in Miami Beach History
Miami Beach has the largest concentration of Art Deco architecture in the country, and The Avalon Hotel is among the most celebrated, boasting a storied history that dates back to its construction in 1941. Our hotel was designed by world-renowned architect Albert Anis (1889-1964), who embraced Art Deco and Miami Beach's tropical setting to create several landmark structures in the area such as Mantell Plaza, Clevelander Hotel, Majestic Hotel, Waldorf Hotel, and Temple Emanuel.
A South Beach Hotel With A Story To Tell
Through many renovations and refurbishments, The Avalon Hotel has preserved its historic heritage all while offering modern amenities one would expect at a resort. The bright-yellow 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88 convertible parked in front of the Avalon has the distinction of being one of the most photographed cars in America, enthralling locals and tourists alike. We have served as the backdrop for many photoshoots and films including Scarface, Miami Vice, Bad Boys 3, and Sidney Pollack's Random Hearts.
